Tripoli: The United Kingdom has expressed its firm support for the municipal elections taking place throughout Libya. The British Embassy in Libya emphasized its backing for the electoral process scheduled for today across the country.

According to Libyan News Agency, the British Embassy made its position clear through a statement on its Twitter account. The embassy highlighted its concerns over any attempts to obstruct or deny democratic processes, particularly through violence, stressing that such actions pose a threat to the ability of Libyans to select their local leaders.

The embassy also recognized the efforts of the High National Elections Commission in safeguarding the democratic rights of the Libyan people, underscoring the importance of these elections in the nation’s political landscape.
