Tripoli: Chairman of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Imad Al-Sayeh, engaged in discussions with Swiss Ambassador to Libya, Joseph Ringli, concerning the commission's preparatory measures for the upcoming municipal council elections, slated for Group III in 2025, and efforts to ensure a seamless electoral process.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting also addressed various aspects of cooperation and the technical support being extended by international partners to bolster the Commission's capacity to manage and implement electoral events in line with the highest international standards.
During the discussions, Al-Sayeh highlighted Switzerland's constructive role in supporting Libya's democratic process, emphasizing the Commission's commitment to strengthening cooperation with international partners to ensure the success of the forthcoming elections.
In response, Ambassador Ringli expressed his gratitude for the Commission's diligent efforts in preparing for the municipal elections, commending the professionalism and transparency demonstrated in fulfilling its responsibilities. He reaffirmed Switzerland's commitment to continue supporting the Commission's endeavors to fortify the democratic process in Libya.
