Tripoli: The Tripoli Security Directorate, in collaboration with supporting security agencies, has intensified its security measures to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the municipal council elections in the capital. The elections commenced this morning, with multiple polling stations opening their doors to voters across Tripoli.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Security Media Department of the Directorate’s Public Relations Office has been actively monitoring the voter turnout since the polls opened. The security deployment includes all components affiliated with the Directorate, such as police stations and other relevant agencies, to maintain an organized and comprehensive security presence.
The Directorate has announced that its security strategy for the elections was developed in coordination with the Central Elections Commission. This plan involves securing all polling stations and ensuring a rapid response capability for any potential emergencies, aiming to bolster citizens’ confidence in their ability to safely participate in the electoral process.
In a statement, the Tripoli Security Directorate urged citizens to exhibit awareness and national responsibility, encouraging them to contribute to the successful execution of the elections. Such participation is expected to project a positive and civilized image of Tripoli and its inhabitants.
