Tripoli: The President of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, held a meeting today with the Algerian Ambassador to Libya, Abdelkrim Rekaibi, to discuss the fraternal relations between the two countries.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Council's media office reported that the Algerian Ambassador expressed the support of the Algerian President and government for the Libyan people in their endeavors towards parliamentary and presidential elections, a constitutional referendum, and resolving institutional divisions.

The discussions also focused on strengthening economic relations, encouraging trade, and the necessity of reopening the Debdeb border crossing and resuming air travel. These measures aim to boost trade and tourism, reinforcing the bonds of brotherhood between the two nations.

Takala emphasized Algeria's role in supporting a comprehensive and final settlement to the obstacles in Libya's political process. He highlighted the importance of Algeria's involvement due to the deep fraternal ties between the two peoples and countries, and stressed the need to unify political stances within the Arab League, the African Union, and regional organizations.
