Tripoli: The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al-Menfi, met today with the French Ambassador to Libya, Thierry Vallat, at the Council's headquarters in Tripoli. This marks their first official meeting since Ambassador Vallat presented his diplomatic credentials.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Ambassador conveyed greetings from French President Emmanuel Macron and extended an official invitation to Al-Menfi to participate in the France-Africa Summit, which is scheduled to take place in Nairobi, Kenya, in the middle of next year. The Ambassador highlighted France's commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation and expanding partnership opportunities between the two nations in various areas of mutual interest.

The meeting covered key political and security developments in Libya, with discussions also focusing on economic pathways and efforts to support stabilization in the region. The French Ambassador acknowledged the significant role of the Head of the Presidential Council in fostering an environment conducive to a comprehensive political settlement. He also noted the importance of Al-Menfi's comprehensive initiative as a practical framework for organizing elections, aimed at securing stability and lasting peace.

Al-Menfi underscored the necessity of continued coordination with France, as well as supporting international and regional efforts to conclude transitional phases in a manner that aligns with the aspirations of the Libyan people for security and prosperity.
