Shakshak and Turkish Ambassador Discuss Ongoing Projects in Libya

Tripoli: President of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, held a meeting with the Turkish Ambassador to Libya, Gven Begi§, attended by several directors from relevant departments within the Bureau. The discussion focused on joint projects currently undertaken by Turkish companies in Libya.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting underscored the need for these projects to undergo comprehensive reviews by the Audit Bureau. This measure aims to enhance transparency, protect public funds, and ensure that the companies involved receive their rightful dues. Both parties reiterated the importance of the Audit Bureau's independence in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities, as dictated by existing legislation.

The dialogue also explored the cooperation agreement established in 2020 between the Libyan Audit Bureau and the Turkish Court of Accounts. The discussion centered on how to bolster the agreement's effectiveness, with particular attention to expertise exchange, technical visits, and specialized training programs.
