UNSMIL and Egyptian Embassy Discuss Libya’s Political Roadmap

Tripoli: The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) reported that Hanna Tetteh, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General, engaged in a discussion with Tamer El-Hefny, the Charg© d'Affaires of the Egyptian Embassy to Libya.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting is part of ongoing consultations by Hanna Tetteh with various Libyan, regional, and international stakeholders regarding the political roadmap in Libya. The dialogue emphasized the importance of a political process that is led and owned by Libyans, facilitated by the United Nations and supported by coordinated international efforts.

The discussion also covered the current situation in Tripoli, with both parties underscoring the necessity to maintain calm and promote dialogue. They stressed the importance of avoiding violence that could harm civilians, property, and the overall stability of the country.
