Tripoli: The UN has extended its congratulations to the GNU-Ministry of Youth on the successful elections for local youth councils. This achievement is seen as a reflection of the growing awareness among Libyan youth regarding the importance of participating in decision-making processes. It also represents a significant step towards empowering youth and enhancing their presence in public affairs.
According to Libyan News Agency, the commendation was made during a meeting held at the Ministry headquarters. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Youth, Haitham Al-Zahhaf, and Sophie Kemkhadze, the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Libya. Also present were the Director of the Minister's Office and the Director of the Ministry's International Cooperation Office. Kemkhadze praised the Ministry for its successful organization of the elections, highlighting this experience as a milestone in supporting the democratic process for youth in Libya.

These programs are designed to develop leadership and administrative skills, thereby enhancing the efficiency of young people and enabling them to play effective roles within their communities.
The discussions also covered support for local youth councils in advocating for youth issues and creating spaces for young people to express their opinions. This includes participating in proposing initiatives and visions that align with their issues and aspirations.
