Istanbul: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity is participating in the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul. This significant gathering of OIC member states commenced on Saturday morning under the theme "The Organization of Islamic Cooperation in a Changing World," featuring an official Libyan delegation.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Libyan delegation is led by Mr. Taher Al-Baour, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity. He is joined by the Director of the Department of Islamic Affairs, the Permanent Representative of the State of Libya to the OIC, and the Libyan Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey.

The session is set to address various priority issues on both the Islamic and international fronts, including the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, military tensions with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and discussions on structural reforms within the organization. Additionally, the election of a new presidency for the Council of Foreign Ministers is on the agenda.

The Libyan participation underscores the country's dedication to supporting collaborative Islamic efforts, enhancing solidarity among member states, and bolstering the role of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in tackling current challenges. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity emphasized these commitments in a statement shared on its official Facebook page.
