Libya and Italy Discuss Enhanced Cooperation in Reconstruction and Development

Rome: The Director General of the Development and Reconstruction Fund of Libya, Belqasim Haftar, along with his delegation, engaged in discussions with the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome. The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between Libya and Italy in reconstruction and development.

According to Libyan News Agency, the discussions centered on enhancing cooperation specifically in the sectors of health, education, agriculture, infrastructure, transportation, and air freight. A significant point of the meeting was the emphasis on resuming flights between Libya and Italy, which is seen as a crucial step in fostering closer ties.

The Development and Reconstruction Fund of Libya further revealed that the two sides reached an agreement to establish specialized technical committees. These committees will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of agreed-upon projects and developing executive frameworks to guide the joint work strategy between the two nations.
