Tel aviv: Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid expressed concern over a rumored Egyptian proposal to create a joint Arab force aimed at confronting Israeli attacks, describing it as a significant challenge to existing peace agreements. Sky News Arabia reported that Lapid views this development as a potential setback to the Abraham Accords.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Lapid took to the “X” platform to voice his concerns, stating that the proposal poses a threat to peace agreements that have been recently shaken by international political shifts. He emphasized that the potential establishment of such a force comes shortly after a majority of Israel’s allies supported the establishment of a Palestinian state, further complicating Israel’s diplomatic landscape.

Lapid criticized the current Israeli government’s handling of international relations, attributing the situation to what he described as “irresponsibility, amateurism, and arrogance.” He warned that these actions are damaging Israel’s global standing and called for a change in leadership to prevent further deterioration.

Highlighting previous accusations against the government, Lapid pointed to what he termed a “disastrous failure” in maintaining security and diplomatic ties, particularly in light of the recent deadly attack and ongoing hostage crisis in the Gaza Strip. He argued that these events have weakened the support from Israel’s key international allies.
