Beirut: Environment Minister Tamara El Zein followed up on a number of projects related to her ministry with her interlocutors on Saturday.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, she held a meeting with officials from the French Development Agency in Lebanon to discuss the project to establish environmental clinics within municipalities. This project aims to empower local authorities and provide them with knowledge to address environmental and climate challenges. It also aims to identify priorities and mechanisms to be followed when rehabilitating lands damaged by the Israeli aggression on Lebanon, based on a report to be issued soon by Lebanon’s Ministry of Environment.

El Zein later held a meeting with representatives from the World Bank office in Lebanon to discuss the fate of implemented projects, including the rehabilitation of the waste treatment facility in Karantina, with the aim of supporting Beirut Municipality in the future when it assumes its management.
