New york: The Chairman of the Administrative Control Authority, Abdullah Qaderbouh, along with his delegation, actively participated in the Second Global Conference on Leveraging Data to Improve Corruption Measurement, hosted at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from December 2 to 4.

According to Libyan News Agency, the conference focused on discussing the Vienna Principles for a Global Framework for Measuring Corruption. It aimed to provide member states with tools, frameworks, and cooperative mechanisms to enhance corruption measurement. The event was sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA), and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

The conference's objectives included the implementation of the Vienna Principles, sharing of practices across global, regional, and national levels, launching the UNDP Global Digital Anti-Corruption Dashboard, and presenting the UNODC's Statistical Framework for Measuring Corruption. It sought to introduce new data tools, indicators, and reports, supporting member states in utilizing evidence-based approaches for measuring corruption.

The event featured high-level plenary sessions, technical committees, and expert roundtables. Discussions centered on emerging methods, digital innovations, and lessons from the past for measuring corruption. Additionally, the conference explored new ways to measure corruption in the public and private sectors, assessed the institutional performance of anti-corruption agencies, and examined the measurement of illicit financial flows and the economic impact of corruption prevention.
