Aoun Honors Martyr Bashir Gemayel: Assassination Seen as Attempt to Kill Lebanese Dream


Beirut: On the eve of the 43rd anniversary of President Bachir Gemayel’s assassination, President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun remarked that the assassination was more than the loss of a leader; it was an attempt to silence a national, authentic dream. ‘Dreams don’t die with their dreamers,’ Aoun stated, highlighting Gemayel as a symbol of determination and a visionary for a strong, sovereign, and united Lebanon.



According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Aoun emphasized that the principles Gemayel stood for continue to be foundational to the Lebanese identity. These principles include freedom, independence, and national unity, which remain relevant and significant to the country today.
