Beirut: The Palestinian National Security Forces in Lebanon have handed over a new batch of weapons to the Lebanese Army, in a continued effort to bolster coordination and security within refugee camps.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Abdel Hadi Al-Asadi, Director of Public Relations and Media for the Palestinian forces, confirmed on Saturday that five truckloads of weapons were delivered from Ain al-Hilweh camp and three from Beddawi camp. The arms belonged to factions under the umbrella of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

Al-Asadi stated that the move comes in line with the joint statement issued by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Lebanese Army Commander General Joseph Aoun. It also follows up on the work of the Lebanese-Palestinian joint committee, which is tasked with addressing conditions in the camps and improving the livelihoods of residents.

‘This initiative reflects the depth of the Palestinian-Lebanese partnership,’ Al-Asadi said, adding that it underscores a shared commitment to strengthening security, stability, and fraternal ties between the two peoples.
