Tripoli: The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has extended an invitation to young Libyan men and women to take part in a virtual meeting aimed at discussing its inaugural report focusing on youth, titled "Youth Voices - Towards a Better Future for All Libyans." The meeting, which underscores the mission's commitment to integrating youth perspectives into national discourse, was attended by Hannah Tetteh, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Libya.
According to Libyan News Agency, the report encapsulates the voices, hopes, and aspirations of over 1,200 young Libyans from various regions, collected during numerous workshops and discussion sessions held over the previous year. These activities were part of the "Youth Participates" program, which was launched by UNSMIL to bolster youth involvement in public life and to enhance their role in shaping Libya's future.
The UN invitation specified that the virtual meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 26, at 5:00 PM Libyan time. This meeting will be conducted via videoconference, allowing for broad participation from young individuals across the country.
