Tunis: The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) announced the successful conclusion of the fifth meeting in a series of smaller-group discussions aimed at addressing key steps of the UN-facilitated roadmap. Held at the UNSMIL office in the Tunisian capital, the meeting reportedly proceeded in a positive atmosphere.
According to Libyan News Agency, the consultations were characterized by a positive and constructive environment, which facilitated the achievement of significant understandings among participants. During the meeting, all outstanding issues were thoroughly discussed, and the participants reaffirmed their commitment to agreements made in previous sessions.
The participants decided to form a working group from among the committee members. This group, with the support of the UN mission, will be responsible for drafting the final agreement. The completion and signing of this agreement are expected to take place during the next meeting, scheduled for next week.
