Valletta: The National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Ibrahim Dbeibah, met with Chris Fearne, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Malta, to discuss bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy and migration. The meeting took place in Valletta and was also attended by Walid Al-Lafi, Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs.
According to Libyan News Agency, the discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in coordinating joint efforts on illegal immigration. The aim was to develop cooperation mechanisms to address the challenges associated with illegal immigration, thereby strengthening security and stability in the Mediterranean region.
In addition to migration issues, the meeting also covered the progress of existing cooperation projects in the energy sector. Both sides discussed ways to expedite the implementation of these projects, thus strengthening the economic partnership between Libya and Malta and supporting energy security in the Mediterranean region.
The representatives from both countries stressed the importance of ongoing coordination and consultation to serve their common interests and contribute to enhancing regional security, stability, and cooperation.
