Sanaa:Boulus The United States looks forward to working with the House of Representatives, its new leadership, and all parties to advance the political process. The United States has congratulated Al-Salihin Abdul-Nabi on assuming the role of Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, as well as Tariq Al-Ashtar and Misbah Douma on their selection as First and Second Deputy Speakers, respectively.
According to Libyan News Agency, Massad Boulos, the U.S. President's Advisor for Arab and African Affairs, stated in a post on the "X" platform that the United States congratulates the new leadership of the Libyan House of Representatives.
He added that his country looks forward to working with the House of Representatives, its new leadership, and all relevant Libyan parties and institutions to advance the political process—one that unifies Libya's political, economic, and military institutions and paves the way for successful national elections. Boulos continued by noting that Libya's leaders and people have an opportunity to overcome their divisions, achieve national unity, and establish lasting peace.
The U.S. President's Advisor emphasized that the United States will remain at the forefront of diplomatic efforts to support Libyan-led unity, in close cooperation with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) and international partners.
