The Saudi Red Sea Authority has issued four codes with international specifications to improve the quality of coastal tourism infrastructure. These codes are the Marina Planning and Design Code, the Cruise Terminal Planning and Design Code, the Marina Operations Code, and the Cruise Terminal Operations Code.The codes aim to improve the quality of the coastal tourism sector's infrastructure, unify the technical standards and requirements and regulate navigational and marine tourism activities in the Red Sea. This helps enhance the authority's objectives of building a sustainable and renewable coastal tourism sector and contributing to achieving the goals of Vision 2030.Issuing these codes is part of the authority's endeavor to establish regulations, rules, and standards for providing navigational and marine tourism services. By leveraging the best international practices in developing coastal tourism activities, the authority aims to position the Red Sea as a premier global tourist destination.In additio n to these codes, the authority has issued eight regulations to govern coastal tourism activities. These measures seek to ensure efficient management and operation of coastal tourism facilities, enhance public safety, safeguard the marine environment and elevate the coastal tourism sector in Saudi Arabia.Source: Saudi Press Agency
