Abu salim: An officer who managed police stations in the Abu Salim Municipality from 2016 to 2025 has been detained by the Public Prosecution. The Public Prosecutor's Office has ordered his detention following allegations of abuse of power during his tenure.

According to Libyan News Agency, the Public Prosecutor's Office, investigating violations by some members of the Stability Support Apparatus, uncovered evidence against the officer. The officer is accused of withholding information related to murders within his jurisdiction, instructing subordinates not to record data of those accused of human rights violations, including murder, kidnapping, and deprivation of liberty, despite having identified them. Additionally, he allegedly failed to report crimes he was aware of, hindering the initiation of precautionary measures.

The Office noted that after the investigator's interrogation, a decision was made to remand the officer in custody pending further investigation.
