Minister of State for Women’s Affairs and UN Representative Discuss Enhancing Libyan Women’s Participation

Tripoli: Minister of State for Women's Affairs, Houria Al-Tarmal, engaged in discussions with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Libya, Hanna Tetteh, and her deputy, Stephanie Khoury, focusing on strategies to bolster the participation of Libyan women.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting centered around developing mechanisms to support women's rights and empower them across various sectors. This initiative aims to ensure equal opportunities for women and strengthen their presence in decision-making roles.

Hanna Tetteh reiterated the United Nations' commitment to backing Libyan initiatives designed to increase women's representation in leadership positions.
