Libyan Audit Bureau and UNDP Explore Collaboration on Institutional Development and Anti-Corruption

Tripoli: The President of the Libyan Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, engaged in discussions on Wednesday with a delegation from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), led by Sophie Kimkhedze, the UNDP Resident Representative in Libya. The talks focused on collaboration in the fields of institutional development and efforts to combat corruption.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting delved into how the Audit Bureau could leverage the UNDP's expertise in various issues related to institutional development. The discussions also covered cooperation in combating corruption, enhancing transparency, and reinforcing accountability principles.

The dialogue between the two parties also touched upon the outcomes of the 16th General Assembly and 59th Executive Council meeting of the AFROSAI, which was hosted in Tripoli last December. The meeting's recommendations emphasized the importance of strengthening regional and international cooperation and developing the capacities of supreme audit and accounting institutions.

The Bureau indicated that this meeting aligns with its ongoing efforts to engage with international organizations and expand technical cooperation frameworks. These initiatives aim to enhance institutional performance and advance financial and administrative governance.
