Tripoli: Libya and the Federal Republic of Somalia have agreed to continue consultations and coordination aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation and elevating relations to broader horizons. This effort seeks to achieve the common interests of the two brotherly peoples and strengthen the bonds of cooperation and friendship between them.
According to Libyan News Agency, this agreement was reached during a meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Tripoli. The meeting was attended by the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Libya, Abdul Fatah Sheikh Ahmed, who recently assumed his duties as his country's ambassador.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation noted on its official page that the dialogue addressed bilateral relations and explored ways to strengthen and develop them in various fields, all in a manner that serves common interests.
Additionally, the two parties discussed arrangements for the upcoming visit of Somalia's Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, to Libya. The visit is considered significant in supporting and advancing bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
The meeting was further attended by the Director of the Ministry's Arab Affairs Department, Najib Al-Rayani, and Malik Al-Asayfar, the official responsible for the Somalia file, highlighting the commitment from both sides to reinforce their collaborative efforts.
