Libya and Egypt Discuss Strengthening Consular Cooperation

Tripoli: Minister of State for Prime Ministerial and Cabinet Affairs, Mohamed Ben Ghalbon, held a meeting yesterday with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Egyptian Embassy in Libya, Tamer El-Hefny, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between Libya and Egypt in the areas of governmental coordination and consular services.According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting addressed the progress of work at the Egyptian Consulate in Tripoli following its trial operation. Discussions included the expansion of its services to facilitate procedures for the Egyptian community in Libya and to enable Libyans to access consular services more easily and efficiently.The meeting also focused on arrangements to enhance the Egyptian diplomatic presence in Tripoli, including preparations for the opening of the Egyptian Embassy. Additionally, the development of mechanisms for coordination and communication between the two sides on various issues of common interest was discussed, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations and serv e the mutual interests of both countries.
