Iraqi President and Libyan Deputy Prime Minister Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation


BAGHDAD: Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid met with Ramadan Abu Janah, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity and Minister of Health, in Baghdad to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in the health sector. The discussions took place during Abu Janah’s participation in the 61st session of the Council of Arab Health Ministers.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting focused on strategies to strengthen relations between Iraq and Libya across various sectors, with a special emphasis on health. The leaders also addressed common interests that could bolster Arab and regional integration amidst ongoing health and humanitarian challenges in the region.

The Iraqi President commended the efforts of the Chairman of the Presidential Council and his deputies in fostering national consensus and stability within Iraq. He also expressed support and appreciation for the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, acknowledging his contributions to d
evelopment and stability after years of conflict.

President Rashid highlighted the achievements of the Government of National Unity under Dabaiba’s leadership, noting improvements in security, economic stability, infrastructure development, and reconstruction efforts. Abu Janah, on his part, emphasized the strong ties between Iraq and Libya, expressing a commitment to enhancing cooperation and supporting initiatives aimed at developing Arab health systems and addressing current challenges.
