Tripoli: Head of the High Council of State (HCS), Mohamed Takala, and council members received the Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes in Libya (UNODC), Dr. Mohamed Sinan, and Regional Health Coordinator Dr. Nabil Abu Amer at the Council's headquarters.According to Libyan News Agency, Takala was briefed on the UNODC's activities, objectives, and programs in Libya, which focus on combating drugs, organized crime, and corruption. The discussion also included a study on drug trafficking and its impact on social stability, along with the study's findings.The meeting addressed support programs for Libyan authorities aimed at fighting financial corruption and money laundering, with the goal of improving the handling of economic crimes by state institutions. Takala highlighted the significance of utilizing UNODC's reports and technical studies to serve the national interest, emphasizing the necessity for ongoing coordination with international bodies, particularly UN agencies. This is inten ded to support Libya's efforts in combating crimes, including promoting transparency, fighting corruption, organized crime, and preventing irregular migration.
