GCC Supports ILO’s Decision to Elevate Palestine’s Status

Doha: The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, welcomed the International Labour Organisation's (ILO) decision to elevate Palestine's representation to a "non-member observer state" during the 113th session of the International Labour Conference.

According to Qatar News Agency, Albudaiwi stated that this move aligns with the international position expressed by the United Nations General Assembly, which supports Palestine's full membership in international organizations. He noted that this decision enhances Palestine's status within the United Nations system.

Albudaiwi also reiterated the GCC's unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate right to establish an independent state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
