French Embassy Celebrates Success of Economic Project for Libyan Women Entrepreneurs

Tripoli: The French Embassy in Libya has announced the successful outcome of the 'New Generations' project, an initiative funded by the French Development Agency (AFD) aimed at economically empowering Libyan women entrepreneurs.According to Libyan News Agency, the embassy highlighted on its website that this project forms part of its continuous efforts to promote the economic and social empowerment of women in Libya. The initiative supports women entrepreneurs in overcoming various challenges they face in the business landscape.The project has already provided financial backing to four women-led startups, each receiving £15,000 to expand their ventures in key sectors such as technology, art, and media within Libya. This funding is viewed as a critical step in fostering innovation and opening new avenues for professional and economic development, with an emphasis on creating a supportive environment that encourages creativity and sustainable initiatives in these vital sectors.The embassy further emphasiz ed that this project aims to establish a model for women's empowerment in confronting obstacles. It stressed that supporting women in entrepreneurship is not merely an economic investment but also an essential move towards promoting equality and social inclusion within Libyan society.
