Tripoli: Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, engaged in discussions to develop bilateral cooperation in the political and economic fields with Indonesian Deputy Foreign Minister, Muhammad Anis Matta, and his accompanying delegation.
According to Libyan News Agency, during the meeting, Dbaiba emphasized Libya's intent to expand partnerships with major Asian and Islamic countries. He welcomed ongoing consultations to organize a joint economic forum in Tripoli or Jakarta to foster practical cooperation between the nations.
The talks explored ways to enhance political and economic collaboration, including establishing a regular consultation mechanism via a joint committee, and signing memoranda of understanding in investment, energy, education, and culture. The meeting also focused on identifying opportunities in infrastructure, trade, and services.
Both parties agreed to create a joint technical committee to address economic issues and resolve previous commitments, thereby building trust and establishing sustainable economic cooperation.
The discussions also highlighted enhancing cooperation in health, transportation, ports, and airports, with plans to leverage Indonesian expertise in managing vital facilities and developing technical capabilities.
On regional issues, Libya and Indonesia affirmed their shared stance on the Palestinian issue and rejected any infringement on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. They also called for a peaceful resolution to the Sudanese crisis and supported efforts to consolidate the ceasefire and achieve stability.
