Tripoli: The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, emphasized the importance of strengthening military partnerships with the United Kingdom to enhance the efficiency of Libyan institutions. This discussion took place during a meeting in Tripoli with the Chief of the British General Staff, Lieutenant General Pilot Harvey Smith.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting, also attended by the British Ambassador Martin Longden, focused on supporting and building Libyan military capabilities. Discussions included cooperation in training and development within the military sector.
Lieutenant General Smith reiterated the United Kingdom’s commitment to enhancing cooperation in military training and rehabilitation, aiming to achieve stability and develop defense institutions. The meeting saw participation from the Libyan side by Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Mohamed Al-Haddad, along with the Director of the Minister of Defense’s Office and the Prime Minister’s Advisor.
