Beirut: Lebanese Army Commander, General Rodolphe Heikal, on Saturday, offered his condolences to the family of an officer in the town of Shhim in the Chouf district, and the family of a soldier in the town of Shehabiyeh al-Faour in Zahle, who were martyred while investigating an Israeli drone that crashed in the Naqoura area.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, General Heikal affirmed that the military institution is proud of its martyrs, honors them, and draws from them determination and strength. He valued the sacrifices of the martyrs’ families and considered the army to represent the broader family of the martyrs’ relatives and works to constantly oversee their conditions.
Heikal stated that “the military units deployed in the south are carrying out essential, difficult, and highly precise missions, and are, along with other units, exerting tremendous efforts to bring the homeland to safety.”
The Army Chief also offered his condolences to the family of a soldier martyred in the town of Abboudieh in Akkar region, who was killed in an explosion at an arms and ammunition depot in Wadi Zebqin, Tyre.
Addressing the martyr’s family, Heikal said: “The blood of our martyrs is precious, and we are loyal to it. I sense your devotion, trust, and steadfastness whenever I enter the home of an army martyr. The rallying of martyrs’ families around the army is a testament to their patriotism. We will persevere for the sake of Lebanon and the Lebanese, and difficulties will not deter us from fulfilling our duty.”
