Tripoli: The Minister of Interior of the Government of National Unity, Emad Al-Tarabulsi, met with the Charg© d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Libya, Jeremy Berndt, to discuss ways to enhance security cooperation between the two sides.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Ministry stated on its official page that the meeting addressed means of strengthening joint coordination on a number of issues of mutual interest, contributing to the consolidation of security and stability. During the meeting, Al-Tarabulsi reviewed the Ministry’s plans aimed at enhancing security, developing security performance, and raising the efficiency of the Ministry’s agencies, in accordance with modern professional standards.
Berndt expressed his appreciation for the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Interior in maintaining security and promoting stability. He commended the Minister’s role in developing security performance and supporting the Ministry’s various departments. According to the Ministry, Berndt praised the strategic plans adopted by the Ministry to address security challenges, including combating organized crime and illegal immigration, and strengthening coordination with international and regional partners.
