Tripoli: President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, issued a decision banning all armed manifestations in the capital, Tripoli, and prohibiting the movement of military vehicles within it under any pretext.
According to Libyan News Agency, the decision, published by the President of the Council's media office, mandates the Tripoli Security Directorate and the Military Police to control and enforce security within the capital.
Earlier today, Al-Menfi held the first meeting with the Interim Committee for Security and Military Arrangements at the Council's headquarters in Tripoli. At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Menfi stressed the importance of developing a comprehensive plan to implement security and military arrangements within the capital. He emphasized the need to clear Tripoli of all armed manifestations and enable regular police and military forces to perform their duties in a safe and disciplined environment, thereby strengthening state authority, consolidating security and stability, and enshrining the rule of law.
