Al-Baour Calls for an End to Aggression on Gaza and Support for Palestinian Statehood

New york: The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, has reiterated Libya's unwavering support for the Palestinian people. He has called for an immediate cessation of Israeli aggression on Gaza and the lifting of the siege on the Strip, advocating for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

According to Libyan News Agency, Al-Baour made these statements during a speech at the annual coordination meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. He described the situation in Gaza as a crime against humanity, criticizing the international community's silence and what he sees as a double standard in addressing these issues.

Al-Baour highlighted the severe impact of the ongoing aggression by Zionist occupation forces, which has resulted in significant loss of life and destruction of infrastructure, including residential neighborhoods and facilities belonging to the United Nations. He emphasized that such actions cannot be justified by political considerations.

Furthermore, Al-Baour condemned the repeated attacks on Syrian territory by the Zionist entity, labeling them a violation of sovereignty. He also criticized statements by the Zionist entity's Prime Minister regarding the Greater Israel Vision, calling them a threat to international peace and security. He urged the international community to take a definitive stance against these policies.

In his address, Al-Baour also expressed concern over the plight of Muslim minorities in various parts of the world, who face marginalization and discrimination. He called for renewed Islamic collaboration and the strengthening of institutions to protect the rights of Islamic peoples worldwide.
