UN Team Engages with 5+5 Military Committee on Ceasefire Sustainability in Western Libya

Tripoli: A team from the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) held discussions with members of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission (JMC) representing the western region. The meeting, which took place yesterday, centered on the sustainability of the ceasefire agreement in the area.

According to Libyan News Agency, the UNSMIL team and the JMC members explored strategies to reinforce and maintain the ceasefire agreement. The talks also delved into the activation of activities related to the clearance of mines and war remnants.

The JMC members reiterated their commitment to collaborating with the UN mission. This includes efforts to enhance the capabilities of military engineering teams tasked with removing unexploded ordnance in the ceasefire zones and other affected areas.
