UN Mission Discusses Libya’s Presidential Decisions and Zawiya Security

Tripoli: The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Libya, Hanna Tetteh, engaged in discussions with Presidential Council member Abdullah Al-Lafi to address the latest political and security developments in the country. This meeting focused on recent resolutions from the Presidential Council and the security concerns in the city of Zawiya.

According to Libyan News Agency, the discussions also included UNSMIL's efforts to advance the mission-facilitated roadmap, highlighting meetings of the Small Group and strategies to unify military and security institutions. Al-Lafi reiterated his support for the UN-led political process and the outcomes of the structured dialogue. He stressed the importance of resolving core issues to achieve peace and stability, which are essential for creating conditions conducive to inclusive elections.
