Tripoli: The Tourist Police and the Antiquities Authority convened to explore avenues for strengthening collaboration in safeguarding Libya’s archaeological and tourist sites. The meeting focused on developing strategies to preserve the nation’s cultural heritage and historical tourism assets.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting took place on Monday evening in Tripoli. It was attended by Major General Al-Senussi Saleh Al-Senussi, head of the Tourist Police and Antiquities Protection Authority, Dr. Mohammed Al-Shakshuki, the head of the Antiquities Authority, and the head of the authority’s Tripoli branch.
The discussions underscored the importance of ongoing coordination and expertise exchange between the two bodies. The aim is to bolster efforts in protecting archaeological sites from potential threats and ensuring their sustainability for future generations.
