The National Oil Corporation Refutes Claims of Non-Compliant Fuel Shipment

Tripoli: The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has firmly denied allegations spread on social media platforms regarding the delivery of a fuel shipment that allegedly failed to meet specifications.

According to Libyan News Agency, the NOC, in a press briefing issued today, emphasized that the shipment underwent a series of additional tests and analyses at the Petroleum Research Center laboratories. These tests confirmed that the fuel was in full compliance with the approved Libyan standards.

The NOC further highlighted that the test results were consistent with those obtained by SayBolt International, the independent international inspector appointed by both the NOC and the supplier. SayBolt International conducted an inspection and examination before the fuel shipment was delivered to Libya.

In addition, the NOC noted that a quality certificate from the International Inspection and Services Company, a leading national inspection firm, corroborated these findings. The company is recognized for its expertise in the field of fuel inspection.

The NOC clarified that the shipment, which arrived on a tanker, was thoroughly evaluated by four specialized technical entities: the independent international inspector, the international inspection company, the local inspection authority, and the Petroleum Research Center. Reports from all these entities unanimously confirmed that the gasoline cargo met specifications and was free from harmful contaminants.

The National Oil Corporation urged citizens and media outlets to verify information through official channels and to avoid being influenced by unfounded rumors. The Chairman of the Board of Directors has instructed that all relevant local and international technical certificates and reports be made available on the NOC’s official website.
