Tokyo: The Libyan Charg© d’Affaires in Japan, Ahmed Salem Al-Naas, recently engaged in discussions with representatives from the Japanese holding company JGC to explore potential cooperation in the sectors of oil, gas, energy, and infrastructure in Libya. This meeting, which took place at the embassy in Tokyo, underscored the mutual interest in strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing communication with major Japanese companies to encourage their involvement in various Libyan sectors.



According to Libyan News Agency, Al-Naas highlighted the significance of Japanese firms re-engaging with the Libyan market, emphasizing the role they could play in development and reconstruction projects due to their advanced expertise and high technical capabilities. He specifically noted JGC’s substantial presence in Libya’s oil and gas sector as a key factor that positions them to contribute to strategic projects within the country.



Furthermore, Al-Naas assured that the Libyan Embassy in Tokyo is prepared to offer all necessary support to foster partnerships with Japanese enterprises. This support is aimed at facilitating their participation in Libya’s economic growth and infrastructure development.



Representatives from JGC expressed their keen interest in the Libyan market, indicating their willingness to return and take part in upcoming projects, particularly focusing on the energy sector and its associated industries. This interest reflects a potential resurgence of Japanese investment and technological influence in Libya, promising a mutually beneficial partnership for both nations.
