Tripoli: The President of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, held a significant meeting at the presidential palace with Fathallah Al-Zani, the Minister of Youth and Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdel Hamid Dabaiba. The meeting focused on enhancing political coordination and fostering bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
According to Libyan News Agency, Al-Zani presented a letter from Prime Minister Dabaiba, which outlined the importance of political coordination and bilateral cooperation. President Embaló expressed his commitment to supporting the GNU’s ongoing efforts aimed at achieving development and stability. He affirmed that the GNU is recognized as the legitimate government leading the nation towards general elections and highlighted the African Union’s support for this initiative.
Further discussions included Al-Zani conveying an invitation from President Embaló to Prime Minister Dabaiba to visit Guinea-Bissau at the earliest opportunity.
The invitation was coupled with recognition of Dabaiba’s continuous efforts to expand Libyan investments across Africa, showcasing a mutual interest in strengthening economic ties.
