Tripoli:Repsol Oil Company has denied allegations concerning Mr. Mikel Erkiaga Aguirre, General Manager of Repsol Exploration Murzuq Sharara Assets LLC (REMSA).

According to Libyan News Agency, the company issued a letter stating that REMSA, which has been operating in Libya since 1994 under agreements with Libya's National Oil Corporation, upholds high standards of transparency and compliance. The letter refutes the circulating information about Mr. Aguirre as false and baseless, affirming his adherence to professional duties and legal standards.

The company noted that Mr. Aguirre left Libya on September 22, 2026, for business engagements, following official procedures and pre-arranged travel plans via Mitiga International Airport.

In its letter, REMSA reiterated its rejection of the allegations and confirmed its ongoing commitment to integrity and governance.
