Qatari Newspapers Highlight Support for Palestinian Cause Amid Israeli Aggression

Doha: The Qatari newspapers today underscored the State of Qatar's steadfast position in supporting the Palestinian cause and its consistent solidarity with the Palestinian people amidst ongoing Israeli aggression. They praised Qatar's welcoming of the International Labour Organization's decision to upgrade Palestine's status from a "liberation movement" to a "non-member observer," viewing it as a step that strengthens international recognition of the justice of the Palestinian cause.

According to Qatar News Agency, the newspapers condemned the ongoing massacres committed by Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip, particularly on the first day of Eid Al-Adha. They emphasized that the catastrophic humanitarian situation faced by the people of Gaza demands urgent international action to end the aggression, halt the genocide, and hold the occupation accountable for its actions against unarmed civilians.

Al Sharq editorial shed light on the massacres carried out by Israeli occupation forces on the first day of Eid, which led to the martyrdom of dozens of civilians in Gaza, amid continued displacement, hunger, and fear. The editorial also focused on the worsening conditions in the West Bank refugee camps and pointed to the occupation's targeting of Beirut's southern suburb on the eve of Eid, which violated the ceasefire agreement and resulted in new humanitarian tragedies.

In this context, the paper affirmed that Qatar, under the guidance of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, continues its diplomatic efforts on the international stage to end the aggression and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people. The editorial expressed hopes that Eid would mark a new beginning of hope for the peoples of the region, despite the current hardships.

Al Raya editorial highlighted the State of Qatar's political and diplomatic stances, reflecting the country's commitment to supporting the Palestinian people in the face of Israeli oppression. The paper considered the upgrade of Palestine's status at the ILO a significant symbolic step toward broader international recognition of Palestinian rights.

The editorial noted that this move aligns with UN General Assembly resolutions supporting Palestinians' right to full membership in international organizations. It called for the decision's implementation to strengthen Palestine's political and legal standing in international forums.

Al-Raya also condemned the international community's silence regarding what it described as ethnic cleansing and forced displacement by the Israeli occupation. It described the situation in Gaza as an unprecedented humanitarian disaster in the 21st century. The editorial reaffirmed that Qatar continues to uphold its firm position in support of the Palestinian cause, urging the world to correct the historical injustice against the Palestinian people and recognize their independent, sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
