Orlando Renews EU’s Call for Peaceful Resolution in Libya

Tripoli: The Head of the European Union Delegation to Libya, Nicola Orlando, has reiterated the EU's call for all parties in Libya to resolve their differences peacefully through dialogue. This call to action was highlighted following a meeting with Abdulsalam Zubi, the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Government of National Unity.

According to Libyan News Agency, Orlando made this announcement in a post on X after the meeting, emphasizing the productive nature of their discussions. "I welcomed the in-depth exchange of views with the Deputy Minister of Defense, Abdulsalam Zubi, on current security developments," stated Orlando.

The Head of the EU Delegation underscored the critical role of collaboration with the Security Arrangements Committee and the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to de-escalate tensions and safeguard civilians. Orlando highlighted the importance of joint efforts in upholding human rights and adhering to international standards concerning migration and border management.
