National Oil Corporation and BP Discuss Resuming Operations and Safety Standards


Tripoli: An expanded meeting took place between the National Oil Corporation (NOC) and BP to discuss resuming activities and enhancing safety standards. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSEE) specialists, along with representatives from BP, engaged in detailed discussions to support NOC’s efforts in facilitating the return of international companies to Libya.



According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting was held at the NOC headquarters in Tripoli and was attended by key figures, including the NOC’s Director of Health, Safety, and Environment and the Director of BP Libya. The discussions centered on establishing frameworks for cooperation and coordination aimed at enabling BP to commence operations. This aligns with NOC’s strategy to boost production while ensuring the safety of lives and property and protecting the environment.



During the meeting, BP representatives were informed about NOC’s initiatives to reduce gas flaring and minimize methane and greenhouse gas emissions. These efforts reflect NOC’s commitment to adhering to environmental standards and promoting sustainability.
