Ministry of Finance and UN Host Dialogue on Development Financing in Libya

Tripoli: The Ministry of Finance of the Government of National Unity, in collaboration with the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Libya and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), organized a high-level dialogue session focused on innovative and sustainable financing for development in Libya. This initiative aims to address the country's financial strategies and explore effective ways to support development goals.

According to Libyan News Agency, the session was attended by a diverse group of stakeholders, including representatives from government institutions, the financial and private sectors, development partners, international financial institutions, the diplomatic corps, and various UN agencies operating in Libya. These participants gathered to discuss and formulate practical methods to finance Libya's development priorities.

Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General and UN Resident Coordinator in Libya, Ulrika Richardson, highlighted the legitimate development aspirations of the Libyan people during her remarks. She emphasized the necessity of coordinated, sustainable, and effective financing, alongside strong and unified institutions, to realize nationwide development ambitions. The dialogue served as a platform to exchange ideas and strategies aimed at achieving these ambitions.
