Tripoli: The Minister of State for the Affairs of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Mohammed bin Ghalbon, engaged in talks with Awad Al-Qawiri, head of the National Diabetes Authority, to explore the Authority's operations and the significant challenges it currently faces.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting, attended by Khalifa Shaliq, Director of the Inspection and Follow-up Department at the Cabinet Office, alongside several directors from relevant departments, involved a comprehensive review of obstacles concerning administrative and technical issues. Discussions focused on the diabetes patient registration systems and mechanisms for updating them to enhance data accuracy and improve the services available to patients across different regions.

The meeting further addressed the provision of medications and supplies for diabetes patients, alongside a review of the legislation governing the Authority's operations and powers. There was also a focus on identifying overlaps in responsibilities with other relevant entities to ensure clarity of roles and enhance institutional performance.

Bin Ghalbon emphasized the Prime Minister's directives to support the Authority and tackle the difficulties impeding its work. He highlighted the importance of completing the electronic linking project for the diabetes patient system with the Civil Registry Department nationwide, which aims to organize the database and facilitate service provision to the targeted individuals.
