Tripoli: The General Water and Sanitation Company has continued its field operations in several Libyan cities and regions, undertaking essential maintenance and collection work to improve the efficiency and reliability of water services. These efforts include the maintenance of water and sewage networks, the cleaning of sewage chambers, and the repair of leaks. Additionally, the company has been distributing water consumption vouchers to citizens and businesses as part of its strategic initiatives to enhance service levels and boost revenue collection.
According to Libyan News Agency, the company detailed on its official page that the maintenance work involved repairing and restoring a two-inch polyethylene water line in the Al-Fath neighborhood of Souq al-Jum'a, addressing a leak inside a sewage chamber, and repairing a one-and-a-quarter-inch water line in the Gargour area. Furthermore, a one-inch water line was repaired in the city of Surman. These actions are pivotal in maintaining the efficiency of the water network and ensuring the continuity of water supplies.
The company further reported that its sanitation teams conducted cleaning and debris removal operations from the main sewage chambers in the Al-Hashan area of Tripoli. In addition, cleaning and clearing activities were carried out in the sewage network chambers in the Buhedima area of Benghazi and the Al-Sirti area of the Ali Bin Abi Talib neighborhood. These operations aim to ensure the smooth operation of the networks and effectively address any blockages.
In efforts to improve customer services, the Qasr Bin Ghashir collection unit distributed second-quarter water consumption vouchers to residents in the Souq Al-Sabt area. Concurrently, the Hun collection unit, in collaboration with the Jufra Municipal Guard, continued the distribution of water consumption vouchers to commercial establishments. These initiatives are part of the company's plan to ensure the timely delivery of vouchers, streamline payment procedures, and enhance the regularity of collection processes, thereby supporting the sustainability of services, as reported by the same source.
