Tripoli: The Ministry of Health of the Government of National Unity has entered into two cooperation agreements with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) to enhance health services and develop the health system. The agreements were formalized during a signing ceremony, where the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Hospital Affairs highlighted the critical role of this collaboration in addressing current challenges and improving the efficiency and accessibility of health services.According to Libyan News Agency, the first agreement is directed at bolstering primary healthcare tailored to the actual needs within municipalities. This initiative aims to ensure a fair distribution of health services and elevate the quality of care provided to citizens at the local level.The second agreement focuses on reinforcing the health system with an emphasis on maternal, newborn, and infant health. It seeks to support health programs, enhance capacity building, and upgrade the quality of service s available to these priority groups.The Ministry stated that this initiative aligns with its commitment to fostering international cooperation and leveraging global expertise to advance the health sector. This effort is expected to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and improve the level of services available to citizens nationwide.
