Libyan Finance Minister and World Bank Discuss Financial Transparency Initiatives


Tripoli: The Minister of Finance of the Government of National Unity, Khaled Al-Mabrouk, engaged in discussions with World Bank Resident Representative in Libya, Henriette Kaltenborn, focusing on enhancing transparency and advancing financial management within the country.



According to Libyan News Agency, the discussions centered around the technical programs that the Ministry of Finance is currently implementing, particularly the Treasury Single Account (TSA) and the Government Financial Management Information System (GFMIS). The ministry emphasized the importance of these programs in improving financial oversight and accountability.



The ministry further stated on its official page that the meeting underscored the partnership between Libya and the World Bank Group, aiming to bolster transparency and enhance the efficiency of financial management systems. These discussions are part of the preparations for the upcoming World Bank meetings scheduled to take place from October 13 to 17 in Washington, DC.
